We had an amazing gathering on Friday with about 50 regular and new members as well as a few visitors, too. Carol Tilley did a wonderful presentation on the work the RNLI do and reminded us of the fearless Grace Darling!

Our children’s and families event: GROW to EAT and crafting. Please join us for our Christmas event on Saturday 28th November from 1.15 – 4.00pm more details later. Supported by Hampshire CC
We had a fabulous time on SATURDAY 1st August making scarecrows, painting rocks and wind chimes as well as planting pumpkin and Mizuna seeds to eat!
Mizuna seeds are very tiny – the packet had 500 seeds in it! I don’t know how many we planted.
We had to add compost to a fibre pot, followed by planting two pumpkin seeds, covering them with more soil then watering. They need looking after, too!
We hope to have two pumpkins by Hallowe’en. The Mizuna should appear in a few weeks.
The seeds came all the way from Japan! The leaves can be used for salads and stir-fry dishes. The are part of the rocket family.
Greening Denmead also helped us plant a wild meadow!
